HCM – Advanced Time Evaluation: Rule Writing in Time: SAP Education North America recently developed a workshop geared toward customers and consultants experienced in SAP Time Evaluation.  The WNATE workshop is designed to maximize your use of standard time evaluation functionality; show you how to customize the time evaluation schema and include customer specific rules; work with the debugger troubleshoot issues; optimize time evaluation processes; and read/understand custom rules.

The four-day WNATE workshop can be delivered in either the live classroom or virtual (remote classroom) and is based on SAP ERP Central Component 6.0, enhancement package 4.   Before registering for the class, a person will need prerequisite experience with SAP Time Evaluation (in any version) and have knowledge of time schemas and personal calculation rules OR have attended HR311 Time Evaluation Without Clock Time OR HR310 Time Evaluation with Clock Time, HR305 Master Data Configuration, and HR306 Configuration of Time Recording.

The goals of the WNATE workshop are:

• Maximize use of standard Time Evaluation functionality;
• Learn to customize the Time Evaluation schema and include customer specific rules;
• Work with the debugger troubleshoot issues;
• Optimize Time Evaluation Processes;
• Read and understand custom rules.

The WNATE workshop has been designed with the following topic structure:

• Optimizing standard processing of SAP Time Evaluation;
• Editing time evaluation schemas and rules;
• Creating custom personnel calculation rules;
• Analyzing errors during time evaluation processing;
• Reviewing time evaluation results;
• Understanding Functions and Operations;
• Using debugger to review the time evaluation process.

The WNATE workshop consists of five basic units:

• Unit 1 – Time Evaluation Processing Data Flow
• Unit 2 – Maintaining Schemas and Rules
• Unit 3 – Functions
• Unit 4 – Operations
• Unit 5 – Advanced Processing Options

The main business scenario utilized for WNATE is your company uses SAP Time Evaluation based on schema TM04 or TM00.  However, you need to customize the schema to incorporate new rules to reflect company specific policies and CAP (Collective Agreement Provisions).

The course will incorporate 10 “real life” customer specific personnel calculation rules which were created to solve specific business requirements for a company. These real world solutions will be the basis for learning how to write rules, how operations work and strategies for placing rules in a schema.

Rule topics include, annual automated quota carryover, time administrator notification when an employee reaches a defined number of consecutive sick days, moving a daily work schedule when it falls on a public holiday and tracking absences on a day following a public holiday.
