How to Speed up SAP Hybris Commerce Integration Projects: In November 2016 an updated version of the SAP Hybris Commerce integration rapid-deployment solution based on SAP Hybris Commerce 6.0 was released.

At the same time a new package called SAP Best Practices for SAP S/4HANA Enterprise Management integration with SAP Hybris Commerce was introduced. This package helps you to integrate SAP Hybris Commerce V6.1 with an S/4HANA on premise backend.

The target of both packages is to quickly provide a starting point for your SAP Hybris integration project, accelerating the technical set up while you can focus on the business side, creating your individual and competitive B2B and/or B2C web shops. The SAP rapid deployment solution (RDS) and the SAP Best Practices (BP) comes with pre-defined integration scenarios covering various use cases with integration to different back end systems, for example B2B Asynchronous Order Management with integration to SAP Merchandising for Retail (also known as SAP ERP Retail or IS-Retail).

Very often customers and partners ask what the difference is between these SAP Rapid Deployment Solutions or SAP Best Practices and the SAP Hybris Commerce Accelerators. The latter are a ready-to-use web framework that enables you to easily build and maintain a feature-rich omni-channel commerce solution, thus enabling you to set up your web shops. On the other side the RDS/BP supports you to configure the integration with your backend systems. For example they take care about configurations of the initial data replication, as well as the recurring data synchronization, ensuring consistent data across channels.

The following integration scenarios are covered by the latest packages:

Fig. 1: Overview of integration scenarios

You should know these scenarios are mutually exclusive. They address different target groups, so for example a customer with retail processes will choose the SAP Merchandising for Retail integration, also known as SAP ERP Retail, SAP Retail, IS-Retail, etc., instead of the SAP ERP integration. Another example is that the SAP Hybris Marketing integration addresses customers with non-SAP ERP systems.

Now let’s see what’s new in the SAP Hybris Commerce integration rapid-deployment solution.

B2C Commerce – Order Management Using SAP Hybris Commerce for Sourcing

This new scope item leverages the capabilities of SAP Hybris Commerce for sourcing with the order management process.

After the customer placed the order in the web shop the SAP Hybris Commerce calculates the availability in the background. In the RDS sample process, the customer orders several pieces of one product but the stock in the delivering warehouse is not sufficient. The system determines the sourcing locations based on pre-defined strategies and calculates the deliveries accordingly. In the example, the products will be shipped from two different warehouses. The information of the split is sent to SAP ERP and results in a sales order with two line items.

Here are the high level process steps covered:

  • Change material, price/discount in SAP ERP
  • Send changes to SAP Hybris Commerce
  • Check updated product and bring catalog version online
  • Place an order in the web shop
  • Check sales order line item creation in SAP ERP
  • Create delivery and post goods issue in SAP ERP
  • Check order status in B2C web shop

B2C Commerce – Asynchr. Order Management with Asynchr. Pricing for Retail
In case you have a retail business, you can now replicate the generic article with its variants, e.g. a shirt with different colors and sizes, and structured articles with their components, e.g. a sales set consisting of a shirt and a tie, as well as merchandise category hierarchy information from the SAP Merchandising for Retail to SAP Hybris Commerce. This integration is part of the SAP Hybris Commerce, integration package for SAP for Retail.

Here are the high level process steps covered in the RDS package:

  • Change article, price/discount in SAP Merchandising for Retail
  • Send changes to SAP Hybris Commerce
  • Check updated product and bring catalog version online
  • Place an order in the web shop for a variant of an article and a sales set
  • Send order to SAP Merchandising for Retail for order fulfillment
  • Check order status in the B2C web shop

B2C Commerce – Targeted Marketing with Product Recommendation
In order to extend the possibilities to provide a personalized shopping experience, you can now use the “top viewed” product recommendation model in addition to the “top selling” model.

The following scope items of the SAP Hybris Commerce integration RDS remain unchanged:

  • B2C Commerce – Targeted Marketing with Segmentation
  • B2B Commerce – Asynchronous Order Management with Synchronous Pricing
  • B2C Commerce – Asynchronous Order Management with Asynchronous Pricing
