Implementation Roadmap Viewer Content Updated for SAP S/4HANA Cloud

The implementation Roadmap Viewer is a tool used by the implementation project team members to navigate the phases, deliverables, tasks and accelerators related to the SAP Activate methodology.

The implementation roadmap is updated to contain the latest scope, processes and accelerators. The content updates occur throughout the quarter with final changes coinciding with the cloud solution quarterly release. This blog is used to summarize the changes.

1711 Release Changes

1. Added Business Driven Configuration deliverables, tasks to the Prepare phase. Business Driven Questions were also added as accelerators to the new tasks.
2. Revised How to Approach Fit to Standard Analysis presentation to incorporate the Business Driven Configuration process.
3. Improved the Expert Configuration Reference and Template accelerator for easier navigation through expert configuration and SSCUIs.
4. Conversion of the request the Q-system accelerators to a guided procedure with built in help and error checking. This includes the Chart of Accounts Numbering Change Template and Organizational Structure Change Template, and the Q-system Request Questionnaire.
5. Added tagging/filtering to the deliverables and tasks for Analytics, Extensibility and Output Management simplifying the viewing of the content across phases.
6. Added a deliverable, New Country Expansion, and task containing the procedure and required Service Center information needed to request a new country to be added to an existing solution.
7. Updated the Activate New Scope Items Delivered in the Quarterly Release deliverable based on the new Q to P enhancements and revised ‘What’s new’ presentations in SAP Help.
8. Added integration procedures for additional solutions.
9. Updated Configure Tax Solutions procedure and added a reference to note 2528016 – External US tax calculation and a new accelerator, US Tax Rate template.
10. Added a link to a step-by-step blog for setting up the Cloud Print Manager to the Cloud Print Manager – Installation and Configuration task.
11. Added the deliverable Ongoing System Operations to the Run phase to capture repetitive tasks related to system operations. The Check Vertex Interface task was added along with instructions on how to periodically check that the interface is not blocked.
12. Add a task, Extensibility Based on SAP HANA Cloud Platform, and a link to the SAP API Business Hub.
13. Revised the procedure for creating the Default Profit Center.
14. Added instructions to access the Extensibility Cockpit in the task Define Key User Extensions.
15. Included in the task, Ensure Key User Access to the SAP Support Portal and Best Practice Explorer, the link to the Contact Us page in the support portal to direct users on where they can get help with accessing SAP Support Portal and Best Practice Explorer
16. Created a deliverable, System Go Live, and task, Set P-system to Live to set the P-system live and to notify the Service Center that the system is being used in a productive mode.
17. Added notes to several fit-to-standard tasks informing that inter/intra-company test scripts cannot be setup or executed in the Starter system.
18. Added the SAP S/4HANA Cloud graphic to the home page to better differentiate between the SAP Active General Cloud roadmap for solutions without a specific roadmap and the Solution Specific S/4HANA Cloud roadmap.
19. Added a new accelerator link to the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Product Scope document and assigned it to several relevant tasks.
20. Added a reference to the Identity and Access Management (IAM) information system to several user creation related tasks. Also added the path to the related help documentation. The IAM can help find missing authorizations for apps.
21. Added to the task, Setup Basic Application Integration, a new accelerator, List of Integration Set Up Instructions, that consolidates the links to the integration setup guides.
22. Added to the task, Configure Finance, a new accelerator, Export Financial Statements to Microsoft Excel that contains a procedure on how to download a financial statement.
23. Incorporated numerous feedback items from field experts to improve completeness and readability.

1708 Release Changes

1. Consolidation of Finance, Professional Service and Enterprise Management into one roadmap, SAP Activate Methodology for SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
2. Increased use of tags to identify and filter project scope. This includes the old editions, various integrations and core/common deliverables, tasks and accelerators. 3. Changed the name of SAP Cloud Identity to SAP Cloud Platform Identity Authentication Service.
4. Added a deliverable, Quarterly Release Cycle, Quarterly Release Cycle and associated task for regression testing in the Q-system after the quarterly upgrade of the system.
5. Added a link to the What’s New release pages to the task, Prepare for and Regression Test Quarterly Updates
6. Consolidated the Q-system provisioning tasks into one task that includes both setting the system phase and submitting the request/communications incident. The Deliverable was also renamed Request Q-system. The P-system provisioning was renamed Request P-system.
7. Replace component XX-S4C-SRV with XX-S4C-OPR-SRV. With 1708, XX-S4C-OPR-SRV must be used for service center requests.
8. Added a standard presentation on how to enter an incident and the overall incident support process to task Ensure Key User Access to the SAP Support Portal and Best Practices.
9. Reviewed and updated all accelerator descriptions. Updated or removed outdated accelerators. Accelerator descriptions are visible via the search results.
10. Added a task, Create Jam Page for Implementation Project Team, and reference document for setting up a standard Jam group. This Jam is created by the SAP Product Expert and used by the team for document storage and communications.
11. Added clarification to Request the Production System that the starter system will be decommissioned 1 month after the provisioning of the P system. Also, the P-system must be requested immediately after receipt of the Q-system.
12. Added deliverable, System Go Live, and instructions to set the cloud system ‘Live’.
13. Added deliverable, Continuous Improvement, to the run phase along with the process to update configuration via a change project.
14. Added an accelerator, Additional Customer Requirements.xlsx, to document requirements not covered in the standard best practice scenarios.
15. Redirected the previous SAP Agreements link to the new Cloud Services Agreements page.
16. Added a new task, Configure Tax Solution, with instructions for Vertex and the Internal Tax calculation.
17. Added Lockbox to the Q-system questionnaire and House Bank Template. The Bank template was renamed Initial Bank-Lockbox-Vertex template.
18. Added an .xml version of the roadmap to the download of the Project Plan. This allows for importing the roadmap into SAP Solution Manager.
19. Removed the starter system provisioning deliverable and task. Starter system provisioning is triggered by the subscription contract.
20. Improved readability by standardizing the format of deliverables and tasks. Standardization will continue with the next updates.
21. Added new Run deliverables and tasks as we begin the build out of the Run phase. This includes New User Setup, SAP Cloud Trust Center, and SAP Support Services for SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
22. Updated release specific accelerators to the current version/content.
23. Added a cutover plan accelerator to Cutover Planning Workshop & Documentation.
24. Added a task to Output Document Templates Definition to download and install the Cloud Print Manager in the explore phase.

1702 Release Changes

1. Reorganized and simplified the Fit to Standard deliverable. The business processes were consolidated by functional areas. New presentations added that will guide the implementation team through the process.
2. Added new deliverables and tasks for Test Case Preparation and Test Plan Creation and Execution.
3. Add link to the SAP API Business Hub to the Define Key User Extensions task.
4. Updated New Scope Activation instructions.
5. Updated project plans to reflect updates to the roadmap.
6. Updated expert configuration templates for 1702 content. Added Self-service UI list to the template to produce a comprehensive list of possible configuration.

1611 Release Changes

1. Added new roadmap for SAP S/4HANA Finance Cloud.
2. Added the SAP Activate Run Phase and deliverable/tasks for activating new product scope after a quarterly release.
3. Remodel of Customer Self-enablement tasks to provide a better guided path focusing on enabling the new project team members and other roles. Learning maps in the Learning Hub were also updated to complement the changes to the implementation roadmap.
4. Added a Getting Started with the Roadmap Viewer presentation as an accelerators to the Prepare Phase. This document will help new users navigate through the roadmap viewer.
5. Updated the user provisioning process steps and the eliminated the task of involving the service center to create users. A new user onboarding accelerator was added.
6. Synchronized solution scope to the 1611 release.
7. Additional extensiblity accelerators in Marketing Cloud.
