Join my TechEd Sessions about Workflow and ABAP Development
At this year’s SAP TechEd in Las Vegas, please join me for my presentation about workflow and BPM modeling:
CD206 – Process State vs. Object State: Modeling Best Practices for Maintainability and Reusability
Making the right design decisions when modeling your business objects helps keep your workflows simple and ensures optimal reusability and stability of your business objects. In this session, we will discuss some criteria and best practices for what goes into the business object and what goes into the process model.
Thursday, 9:15 a.m.–10:15 a.m., Room Murano 3205
https://www.sapteched.com/usa/edu_sessions/session.htm?id=489
The session revolves around the question of where to draw the line between the business process and the business object, and how to avoid frequent modeling mistakes such as encoding a core process in the status graph of the business object. We’re also going to discuss how to design business objects for reusability in many different processes, and how to design processes for changeability to respond flexibly to changing business requirements.
And my Expert Networking Session:
EXP514 – ABAP Objects Development from Scratch Lounge
Tuesday, 11:00 a.m.–11:30 a.m., Expert Networking Lounge 7 (near the SCN Clubhouse)
https://www.sapteched.com/usa/activities/session.htm?id=514
In this session I hope to get a discussions with developers and architects about ABAP development topics such as

- ABAP – Java co-existence
- SOA in the real world
- state of the Business Partner
- extensibility
- Application Lifecycle Management
- your suggestions
I’ll also join Sue Keohan’s Expert Networking Session about the future of SAP Workflow. This is a not-to-miss session for anyone interested in Workflow because Sue’s blood consists of workitems instead of blood cells. In fact, Sue has graciously informed me that I’m co-hosting two Workflow Expert Networking Sessions:

Wednesday, 10:30 a.m.–11:00 a.m., Lounge 4
