SAP Netweaver 740 SR1 BW Installation

We had a requirement to install SAP Netweaver 740 SR1 BW System but We came across certain issues while doing that

Challenges

• Most Recent and SWPM was not giving any option for a fresh install.There was option for System Copy only related to SR1.

• Older SWPM does not have the SR1 option at all.
• We tried to find out “NW 7.4 SR1 Installation Export” under “Installation and Upgrade” section in SAP Service Market Place My Company’s Application Components“ My Company’s Software“ SAP NETWEAVER“ SAP NETWEAVER 7.4

          but We could not locate SR1 Installation Export DVDs.Instead NW 7.4 SR2 DVDs are available only.

Resolution

Created an OSS message to component XX-SER-SWFL-ESD

SAP provided below solution to get it going

1) Download the requested Export media from the SWDC under following path: https://support.sap.com/swdc – Installations and Upgrades – Browse our Download Catalog – SAP Development Projects –Emergency Delivery – EMERGENCY DELIVERY ERP – EMG DELIVERY EHP7 ERP 6.0 SR1 ( SAP Development Projects“ EMERGENCY DELIVERY“ EMERGENCY DELIVERY ERP)

Please note the path is available till 2016/02/07.

2) A special SWPM.

     Download the most current SWPM. Extract it on the target host.

     Download the file ‘product.zip’ which SAP attached to the incident.

     Replace the existing ‘product.catalog’ inside the directory of the extracted SWPM with the custom one that was downloaded in previous step.Start your installation.

This time I was able to see the option for fresh NW 7.4 SR1 Installation.All the related DVDs like Kernel etc can be downloaded from that place only(
