A New Chapter
When I was first introduced to the SAP Community about three years ago someone said that there is something sticky about this place, once you´re in it you never want to leave. What sounded a little strange at the time perfectly explains the value of a strong community. It is not just the business value you get from the incredible wealth of knowledge in a community, but more importantly it is about the people you meet and a culture that becomes such a big part of your professional identity.
SAP Community is one of the most incredible places my career has taken me (and I´ve been spoilt with a pretty amazing ride!), it will always be part of my DNA, regardless of job function or title. However, with changing circumstances it is time for me to take on a different role, while fulfilling a long-time dream of shifting the oh so famous work life balance more in favor of things in life that tend to get less space when you´re constantly in the fast lane at work.
Everyone knows the move to our new SAP Community home on sap.com has been a challenging one and there is still a lot to get done before this is the environment you all deserve: A world class digital experience for a world class community. Many of you have been vocal about the need to launch improvements faster and SAP has heard you. We now have more resources working on this than I have seen in my three years with this business area. We have more executive support and also more leaders actively involved. That is great but it also comes with some growing pain. When you move fast it is more important than ever to have clarity in roles and with multiple leaders stepping up to help drive this forward I have decided that this is an opportunity for me to focus my time on many of the top contributors in the SAP Community, the SAP Mentors. I leave the community experience team in Gali Kling Schneider’s very capable hands. She will continue to lead the team, being a strong voice for the SAP Community, supporting engagement across all aspects of community activity.
As we write the next chapter for the SAP Community, I will write the next chapter for myself and while I will not lead the entire community experience team I will not be far. I look forward to supporting the SAP Community by working even more actively with the SAP Mentors who I appreciate beyond words, not just for what they do for the entire SAP ecosystem but also for their friendship.
You are what makes the SAP Community so special and I look forward to continuing the partnership with this incredible group, making sure that this place stays “a sticky one” that we keep wanting to write new chapters for. I´m more motivated than ever to work with and for the SAP Community, just not on Mondays for the next few months ????
