Enhancement Package 6

Enhancement packages deliver new functionality which can be activated selectively via business functions. They are cumulative which means that each new enhancement package includes all innovations delivered with prior packages. With this latest package more than 600 business functions are delivered in order to improve or enhance the various ERP application areas, industry solutions, user interfaces and usability.

Enhancement Package 6 completely Webdynpro ABAP and also easy process for functionality. This package reduce project duration and time.

Prerequisites

·       You have installed the following components:

·       You have installed business function HCM, ESS on Web Dynpro ABAP (HCM_ESS_WDA_1) to enable Employee Self-Service based on Web Dynpro ABAP technology

·       You have activated the required business functions for the applications contained in the Employee Self-Service Composite Role (SAP_EMPLOYEE_ESS_WDA_2). These applications come from different functional areas, including non EA-HR systems, and will work only if you have activated the following business functions

India

The following new applications are available for India in the Payment area:

·         Income Tax Declaration

This application enables employees to submit their savings details and other IT declarations through a web application in the SAP NetWeaver Portal. The system reads and processes these details for payroll processing. Employees can use this application to create and process the following type of requests:

o    Section 80

o    Section 80C

o    Previous employment details

o    Housing

o    Income from other sources

Approvers can use this application to change, reject, or approve the above mentioned requests. They can keep a record of the proposed and actual contributions made by an employee towards different income tax sections, for example, Section 80.

·         Advanced Claim

You can use this application to enable your employees to submit their claims through a web application in the SAP NetWeaver Portal. The system reads and processes these details for payroll processing. Employees can use this application to create the following type of requests:

o    Claim request

o    Advance request

o    Claim against Advance

o    Application

o    Claim against Application

o    Encashment

o    Application Cancellation

o    Advance Repayment

It also enables employees to display and edit existing claims and advance requests. Approvers can use this application to change, reject, or approve the above mentioned requests.

·         Salary and Income Tax Projection Statement

This application provides employees with an overview of the salary components and income tax calculations for the current financial year.

HCM_ESS_WDA_2: Business Function: HCM, ESS on Web Dynpro ABAP 2

As of SAP enhancement package 6 for SAP ERP 6.0, Enterprise Extension Human Capital Management (EA-HRGXX), the business function HCM, ESS on Web Dynpro ABAP 2 is available.

With this business function, the SAP Employee Self-Service (ESS) is based completely on Web Dynpro ABAP technology, and builds on the features in thebusiness function, HCM, ESS on Web Dynpro ABAP (HCM_ESS_WDA_1) to offer the following:

Ø  New interfaces and features for managing employee benefits (Benefits) including:

·         Multi-step guided activity with enhanced UI logic for the enrollment process, including open enrollment, and work and life status change enrollment

·         Easier viewing and maintenance of personal profile information and dependents and beneficiary information, which is integrated with Benefits

·         Enhancements for co-requisite plans, pre-requisite plans, and ineligibility for plan handling

·         Easier and more user-friendly option for employees to maintain participation overview, personal profile, and dependent and beneficiary details

·         New application process for submitting Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Claims

Ø  Enhanced interfaces and features for managing employee time in Cross-Application Time Sheet (CATS) and new features for managing Clock-In/Out Corrections

Ø  New, user-friendly features in the Personal Profile application, including easily updated Emergency Address information

Ø  Enhanced interfaces, and new skills and qualification information integrated with the Talent Management profile in ESS

Ø  New features for the Code of Conduct application based on HCM Processes and Forms technology, enabling easy roll out of the code of conduct to all employees

You can use Employee Self-Service (WDA) as a Portal agnostic role in SAP NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC) for HTML. or as an SAP NetWeaver Portal role (new Business Package Employee Self-Service (WDA) 1.50).

The ESS role contains services from different functional areas, including services from non-EA-HR systems. These services will work only if you have activated the required business functions for these services. The business function, HCM, ESS on Web Dynpro ABAP (HCM_ESS_WDA_1) is a prerequisite if you want to have the full functional scope of the services shipped in the standard ESS Web Dynpro ABAP (WDA) role.

Effects on Customizing

When you activate the business function HCM_ESS_WDA_2, you must maintain the new Customizing for ESS in Web Dynpro ABAP. The new Customizing is located in the SAP Customizing Implementation Guide as follows:
