EXECUTING DTP IN SIMULATION / DEBUG MODE

Simulating the data update and debugging a data transfer process request (DTP request) help us to analyze an incorrect DTP request.

In this way we can also simulate a transformation prior to the actual data transfer if you would like to check whether it provides the desired results. Below are the steps:

In the execute tab of the DTP, select the option : “Serially in the dialog process (for debugging)”

EXECUTING DTP IN SIMULATION / DEBUG MODE

On selecting the above option, a change in the screen can be observed now. The “execute” button changes as “simulate”. A new check box “Expert mode” will also appear next to the simulate button.

Select this check box.

Once you press the simulate button, a pop up will open with two different tabs “Filter” and “Temporary Store and Breakpoints”.

In the filter tab, we can give a particular selection criteria ( like material ) for which it has to be checked during debugging instead of debugging the whole data. We can also add or remove the fields with the help of “change selection option”.

Here is the screen shot for temporary store and Breakpoints tab. One can select the check boxes here to go into the debug mode, instead of setting breakpoints in the generated program. now press F8 or execute button in order to execute the DTP via debugger.
