Major difference in time between postings and notifications

Why the big difference between a comment and the time I get the notification?

I spotted this comment below while browsing my “tagged” areas.  I did not have any notifications at the time.

A bit later I got a notification about the comment. But it indicates it was made 18 minutes ago which is wrong.
